This blog was planned as a way to organize my thoughts on health knowledge that I wished to share with my family and friends.
Having been a student of the life and physical sciences in college, I was given a good grounding in the fundamentals and also exposure to the clinical world of medicine. A few takeaways from my experiences :
- There is a lot of information passed around that is not helping people achieve their health and wellness goals in an optimal manner
- With enough patience, determination, and love, one can become knowledgeable enough to make a positive impact on their own well-being and that of their community
Contrary to the name of the blog, health does not trump wealth…health IS wealth, and we all need to be empowered with both. Everybody deserves to have the keys to mental and physical well being. This information is out there, and presented by many health-focused organizations (i.e CDC, Kaiser, Sutter Health, W.H.O, etc.), but not entirely consolidated in an easy to comprehend manner. All I can say is that when I learned these keys, and put them to use, there was an exponential increase in the quality of my social and financial lives.
The goal of this blog is to provide you, the reader, with 3 pillars to drive progress:
- Historical and cultural context of how the modern state of health and medicine have come about
- Overviews and breakdowns of disciplines of science that everybody can benefit from (Diet/Nutrition, Exercise Science, Sleep, Occupational Health, and many more)
- An actionable path by which the reader can implement the discussed disciplines into bettering their own life, and the lives of those in their communities
